Working Group 6 - Public data dissemination strategies
Mission
Appropriate data in appropriate formats to user community in order to maximize impact of Fantom5
Dissemination breaks down into

- need to provide well formatted documented data as a base for subsequent dissemination rather than a focus upon software for centralized viewing.
Reagents
Data is divided into SAMPLES , RAW DATA and ANALYTICAL PRODUCT
Cell and tissue metadata Investigator Assays Samples Data generated CAGE- Raw and Derived Many analytical products TSS, networks etc Bioinvestigation Format Reagent libraries must have unique accessions.
Discussion on “Can clusters have IDs?” ISA-TAB FORMAT IS A GOD WAY TO CAPTURE PRIMARY INFORMATION PROCESSED DATA?
Users Two kinds: - Biologists- web - Bioinformaticians- API
Formats Documentation Feedback on development and documentation? The current and future wiki is likely to be great for documentation so a number of the previous problems for CAGE data have been addressed. - Data version, updates - Use ontologies to link to outside references
We need to determine what the major questions are that will be asked by the investigators as this will give us a sense of the needs of the community outside of RIKEN.
NEed to provide TSS in the context of covariates and ideally stable accessions
Clusters: Accession
Need to understand the manner in which TSS will be defined - in terms of contributing cell types and states (each of those has a stable accession) and use a unigene style to accession these at least for a major publication.
We will these existing formats such as BED to disseminate Cage data If format insufficient, communicate tweaks needed to the formats community for acceptance and development so that these will be widely promulgated
Linking out Linking to high traffic sites such as NCBI and DDBJ Submit to DDBJ DRA archive Develop a UCSC -pooled track and ENSEMBL-pooled track have the promotoers be clickable back to ZENBU
"Searching"
Any tools should suppprt, eventually, a USER being able to upload their own data to search against the corpus
Action Items Email list Canvas community for appropriate research questions.
